On Saving an Antique Carousel

I think of our efforts to get after this carousel as half ass when the whole of Belmont Park disappeared and nothing was saved. I am for preserving some of our heritage but not all for the same reason that other countries have in keeping up with their historical past. I am for preserving the past but not just a singular carousel!
Now I know we don't have nuch compared to European countries steeped in theor historical past but we do have art deco, we have modern genre and pretty soon contemporary genre will be a thing of the past! So it isn't that we have to think of ourselves as not having objects to proud of. The only thing is to co-ordinate our efforts so as not to repeat actions like the distruction of the Van Horne mansion on Sherbrooke about 30 years ago while we're busy preserving edifices on the south slope of Mount Royal today!!

On the Use of Recycling Materials for Building

I am all for recycling used materials and stuff we take for granted and young people, not just students can learn what it is really like not having access to proper building materials by our standards.
People are needy all over the world. The need to help raise the quality of life elsewhere is a distinct issue that will never subside. If adults are too caught up in their condo buying process or triplex renovation they might also benefit from the fact that the majority of humanity does not have half the home furnishings Canadians do. How can we not continue to help one way or another. Kudos for the program and may it lead to others that will likely breathe fresh air into the so called 'chariable organizations' with nicely furnished interior offices in have not countries
